What You’ll Be Doing 

 

Cadmus’ drinking water work directly supports US EPA, states, and non-profit organizations as they address critical public health issues related to drinking water and water quality. Our work is on diverse topics such as reducing lead in drinking water; addressing harmful per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS); ensuring environmental justice; building water utility resilience to climate change; and ensuring healthy watersheds.  

 

The Water Infrastructure Intern opportunity is a 10 week paid Internship beginning June 2025. Interns will be assigned to our Arlington, VA office. This position will be a hybrid with three days in the office, two days remote.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct literature searches and reviews on topics to support drinking water regulation development, water quality protection, climate adaptation, or related topics under the direction of a project manager and in collaboration with other team members
  • Collect, compile, and summarize data and information to prepare reports, assessments, and analytical materials
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as organizing meetings and taking notes
  • Write, edit, and proofread documents or sections of documents, such as technical reports
  • Assist on webinars and at in-person events

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate degree program
  • Interest in one or more of the following areas:
    • Technical research
    • Public communications and stakeholder engagement
    • Policy analysis, development, assessment, and evaluation
    • Qualitative and quantitative analysis of environmental data
  • Excellent writing, communication, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, including setting priorities and adapting to changes in a time-sensitive, deliverable driven workplace
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills
  • Initiative and ability to self-direct on assignments
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as a U.S Perm Resident or U.S. Citizen. 

Additional Information:

 

Interns are eligible to participate in the Cadmus 401(k) program if they are 21 years or older.  

 

The hourly rate for this position will depend on the student's degree level. For undergraduate students the hourly rate is $25 and for graduate students it is $30.
