What You’ll Be Doing

 

Cadmus’ Homeland Security work includes a portfolio of projects with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) that focus on improving FEMA’s disaster response and recovery efforts, collecting and analyzing data to assess how prepared the nation is for different threats and hazards, assessing the impacts of FEMA’s state and local grant programs, and developing doctrine and guidance across FEMA’s resilience, response, and recovery mission spaces.

 

The Emergency Management Intern opportunity is a 10 week paid Internship beginning June 2025. Interns will be assigned to our Arlington, VA office.

This position will be a hybrid with three days in the office, two days remote.

Responsibilities

  • Support analytical tasks as part of an integrated client delivery team
  • Provide policy analysis, research, and communications support on homeland security and emergency management-related topics
  • Develop concise, clear, and easily-consumable written deliverables
  • Support coordination with stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate degree program
  • Interest in one or more of the following areas:
    • Policy analysis, development, assessment, and evaluation
    • Qualitative and quantitative analysis across emergency management topics
    • Client and stakeholder outreach, engagement, and communications 
  • Excellent writing, communication, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, including setting priorities and adapting to changes in a time-sensitive, deliverable driven workplace
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills
  • Initiative and ability to self-direct on assignments
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as a U.S Perm Resident or U.S. Citizen. 

Additional Information:

 

Interns are eligible to participate in the Cadmus 401(k) program if they are 21 years or older.  

 

The hourly rate for this position will depend on the student's degree level. For undergraduate students the hourly rate is $25 and for graduate students it is $30.
