Responsibilities

The Program Assistant will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Serve as project assistant for overseas projects—overseeing administrative, contractual, and financial aspects of projects
  • Provide support to project monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) activities, including data entry
  • Liaise with Cadmus’s Corporate Finance Department to track project spending, provide periodic financial forecasts, and review monthly invoices
  • Serve as workshop coordinator for U.S. and international workshops, managing travel, logistics and other arrangements
  • Maintain project controls and adherence with policies and procedures
  • Tailor contract templates for consultants, subcontractors, and clients
  • Handle logistics for consultant and staff travel, relocation, and project events
  • Search consultant database to identify consultants and enter consultant CVs in the consultant database
  • Manage project deliverables and reports
  • Update website and intranet, as appropriate, including writing success stories
  • Conduct research or data analysis and prepare draft reports (or inputs) for senior staff or project consultants

Qualifications

Minimum required skills and qualifications:

  • B.A./S. in business, international development/affairs, economics, or related field and 0-2 years of work experience
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills (you will interact with employees, consultants, partners, clients, subcontractors, and vendors)
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), research, and presentation skills

Preferred skills and qualifications:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in administrative or support roles relevant to the international development field preferred. We will also consider other internships or work experience that demonstrates independent decision-making, customer-interfacing responsibilities, and mentoring/training of others
  • Strong analytical and computer skills, including spreadsheet and financial tracking
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong language skills in Spanish or French preferred. Other languages widely spoken in the developing world may be considered in place of these languages
  • Relevant overseas work or internship experience in a developing country context preferred
  • Experience in relevant international trade and/or economic growth issues preferred

Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as a U.S Permanent Resident or U.S. Citizen.

The minimum starting salary for this position is $55,000. The actual salary may be higher and will be determined by several factors, including relevant work experience, education, skills, and market competitiveness.
