What You’ll Be Doing

 

The Cadmus Group seeks a dynamic and detail-oriented early career professional with experience in diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) and an interest in working to further equity goals for the federal workforce to join our Strategy and Transformation Line of Business.

 

The DEIA Analyst will support our work with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Ocean Service (NOS) to help achieve its human capital and equity goals. This position will play a crucial role in implementing and advancing DEIA initiatives, fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment, and contributing to the overall wellness and professional growth of NOS employees.

Potential candidates should have a foundational understanding of human capital development and passion for DEIA, though are not expected to be experts in their fields. Rather, ideal candidates will have expertise in employee experience, enthusiasm and excitement for the role, and a willingness to learn and think outside the box to achieve NOAA’s goals. Some domestic travel may be required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Support survey data collection and analysis related to the employee experience to capture formal collaboration points across the organization.
  • Analyze existing and upcoming bureau opportunities, DEIA studies, and relevant data to inform recommendations and equitable strategic decisions.
  • Support personnel initiatives for recruitment, on/off-boarding, succession planning, and DEIA implementation.
  • Provide project management and support communication strategies for training and development initiatives.
  • Support launching and analyzing the annual DEIA Workforce Survey to monitor employee experiences and progress.
  • Define and implement DEIA performance metrics to increase workforce accountability.
  • Support the development and implementation of on-boarding tools and resources, such as checklists, FAQs, and training materials.
  • Support other initiatives and special projects related to DEIA as directed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and at least two years’ experience in a relevant field (e.g., implementing DEIA and employee development initiatives within an organization). A master’s degree in a relevant field may be substituted for two years’ experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience in employee development projects, including competency model development, career pathing, and succession planning.
  • Excellent analytic, communication (oral and written), research, and presentation skills, with the ability to work across teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to self-edit and quality-check all work.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage tasks and deadlines across multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of requirements and experience creating 508 compliant materials.
  • Enthusiasm for DEIA initiatives and a willingness to learn and think creatively.
  • Proficiency in relevant software programs including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Able to pass a U.S. federal government background check and public trust clearance process - required US Citizenship.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with the federal government in general or the Department of Commerce / NOAA in particular.
  • Experience using Excel, Power BI, Google Analytics, or similar tools for data analysis and visualization.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training coordination.
  • Certification in DEIA, project management, or a related field.

The minimum starting salary for this position is $60,000. The actual salary may be higher and will be determined by several factors, including relevant work experience, education, skills, and market competitiveness.
