Overview

What You’ll Be Doing

 

Cadmus seeks an Energy Transition Analyst to join its Program Performance and Design team. The successful candidate is expected to manage and conduct primary and secondary research and facilitate program planning on behalf of Cadmus’ energy clients (primarily utilities and administrators of energy efficiency programs). You will be responsible for managing project tasks, executing market research and analysis, and creating written and visual reports on the findings. This role will include research to evaluate existing energy efficiency and electrification programs and support the design of future programs.

 

You should have professional experience in program evaluation, social science research methods, program design, and/or energy efficiency or sustainability. The candidate will be highly motivated to perform and learn, be able to work collaboratively and independently, manage assigned tasks and projects from start to finish with minimal input from supervisors, and have exceptional written, verbal, and analytical skills. We are looking for candidates with strong market or social science research skills who have demonstrated experience with energy efficiency or related programs.

Responsibilities

  • Support market research, program planning, and evaluation projects.
  • Develop high-quality data collection instruments, including interview guides and surveys.
  • Conduct phone interviews and manage online surveys with utility program staff, program participants, contractors, and other market actors.
  • Analyze program, survey, interview, and other data to identify trends, synthesize research findings, and develop actionable recommendations for client consideration.
  • Actively communicate and coordinate with project teams. Provide clear and consistent communications on projects and tasks and raise any concerns or issues.
  • Develop detailed reports and presentations of results, findings, methodologies, and data sources, in addition to providing clear, actionable recommendations to clients.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet Cadmus standards and exceed client expectations.
  • Support project management activities including budget tracking, invoicing, project planning, and resource management.
  • Communicate professionally (oral and written) with colleagues and clients, in varying time zones.

Qualifications

  • Between 5-7 years of experience managing or supporting research or planning projects that include both qualitative and quantitative techniques.
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in business, the social sciences, economics, communications or a related field. A Master’s degree may substitute for 2 years of professional experience.
  • Industry experience in market research, energy efficiency, utilities, program design and/or evaluation.
  • Experience designing and conducting social science research, including interviews, surveys, focus groups, and/or literature reviews.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Preferred:

  • Prior consulting or client-oriented work experience.
  • Business development (including proposal management and response) experience.
  • Experience using research platforms (e.g. Qualtrics, FocusVision, DeDoose, etc.).
  • Demonstrated analytical skills using statistical and analytical tools (e.g., Python, SAS, R, Excel).

Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as a U.S Perm Resident or U.S. Citizen.

The minimum starting salary for this position is $70,000. The actual salary may be higher and will be determined by several factors, including relevant work experience, education, skills, and market competitiveness.
