    Cadmus seeks a Principal consultant in California to meet the growing demand for our services and accelerate our business development initiatives. This person will orchestrate and lead statewide business development activities to establish, maintain and expand long-term relationships with key clients and industry leaders. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about building the next generation of energy systems solutions for utilities, municipalities, and CCAs in the areas of strategic electrification, planning, EM&V, market research, customer engagement, DER, risk management, and regulatory support services.


    As part of our Energy Services team, you will work with a collaborative and driven team of experts. We are seeking a creative, strategic, and analytical thinker, with a demonstrated ability to design and execute innovative solutions. We also require a candidate with a proven marketing and business development record, who enjoys acting as a consultative partner to clients and internal colleagues alike.


    • Create and expand relationships with key individuals at utilities, municipalities and CCAs to develop an understanding of customer needs and processes.
    • Work collaboratively with subject matter experts to develop targeted and compelling solutions to immediate and emerging needs.
    • Represent Cadmus in key market forums.
    • Maintain and build key client relationships; understand customer needs, develop solutions, oversee engagement throughout sales and project lifecycle.
    • Support best practices and process improvement in business capture activities.
    • Partner with other subject matter experts to position Cadmus on key market trends and opportunities to provide new and innovative solutions to clients.
    • Mentor CA staff and oversee projects to ensure we meet or exceed client expectations.
    • Support company strategy through feedback on customer needs, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities.


    • 10+ years’ work experience in consulting or energy industry.
    • Minimum of 5 years in business development or account management.
    • Record of success developing new business and strong relationships with utility clients in California and surrounding states.
    • Analytic experience and subject matter expertise in energy efficiency and DERs, a plus. Strong strategic experience.
    • Self-starter, action-oriented and results producer.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in behavioral and social sciences, mathematics, quantitative economics, statistics, consumer market research or relevant field.
    • Desire to work in a collegial and collaborative, but fast-paced and dynamic, environment.
    • Able to travel up to 50% of the time throughout California, Oregon and surrounding states

    Additional Information:


    This position will ideally be located in our Oakland California office. Consideration, however, will also be given to candidates in other California locations.
