  • Overview

    The Cadmus Group, Inc. is seeking an entry level Research Analyst to join the Energy Services Sector. The Energy Services team at Cadmus provides advanced analytic and strategic consulting services to energy companies, utilities, governments, and non-profit organizations


    Our primary areas of focus are:

    • Measuring and verifying energy efficiency and load control program energy impacts.
    • Performing engineering, economic, statistical and econometric modeling and analysis in support of impact evaluations, market transformation analysis, and resource planning.


    Candidates should have interest and knowledge in the field of energy management or energy efficiency. They should have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, be highly self-motivated to perform and learn, be able to work collaboratively and independently, and manage assigned tasks and projects from start to finish with input from supervisors.


    This position will be based in Madison, Wisconsin, and will work closely with our staff throughout the country.


    Responsibilities for this position include both technical work and project support/management.


    Technical Elements

    • Assist with planning, designing and implementing research efforts to support program evaluations.
    • Conduct primary and secondary data collection.
    • Analyze and interpret data to reach meaningful conclusions and recommendations for inclusion in clearly written, concise reports.


    Project Management

    • Assist with project management activities such as internal project coordination and budget tracking.
    • Perform survey, scheduling and recruiting calls.
    • Contribute to proposal efforts.
    • Perform office management duties, including purchasing supplies, planning group events, and coordinating mail deliveries.


    • Undergraduate degree in engineering, economics, statistics, mathematics or related field.
    • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word and Excel.
    • Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative data collection methods.
    • Experience with analyzing data and interpreting data.
    • Excellent writing, communication, and critical thinking skills.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, including setting priorities and adapting to changes in a time-sensitive, deliverable driven workplace.
    • Strong organizational, detail-oriented skills.
    • Initiative and ability to self-direct on assignments.



    • Familiarity with energy sector or utility industry
    • Familiarity with Python/Jupyter, VBA, Matlab, R, SQL, Access, FileMaker, or similar tools a plus
    • Experience in professional/consulting business environment.
    • Applied experience with quantitative research activities in academic or professional setting.
    • Familiarity with project management tactics and tools, including schedule software and budget tracking.
