    About the opportunity


    Cadmus’ Homeland Security Sector is seeking candidates for the Research Analyst position to work on-site at FEMA’s National Preparedness Assessment Division (NPAD), specifically by providing customer service, administrative, and analytical support to NPAD’s staff and partners. This is an entry-level position with varied administrative and analytical responsibilities—including customer support, meeting coordination, stakeholder engagement, research and analysis, and preparing reports and briefings for senior government officials and the public.

     

    Please note: 

    • This position will be located at a client site and qualified applicants must be able to pass a DHS Suitability check.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities for this position include:

    • Providing support to state and local emergency managers completing preparedness assessments
    • Providing meeting support to internal and external stakeholders to improve assessment methods, solicit feedback, and share preparedness results
    • Collaborating with developers to improve assessment tools
    • Developing assessments, reports, memoranda, presentations, and training material for government clients
    • Supporting stakeholder coordination in support of project objectives
    • Employing qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques to draw conclusions from different data sources
    • Providing legislative and policy analysis and research on emergency management-related topics
    • Working with government clients and Cadmus supervisors to performing administrative tasks, such as scheduling, organizing meetings, and taking notes

    As an entry-level position, we invite both recent graduates and those with relevant experience to apply for the Research Analyst opening. Successful candidates will demonstrate:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as public policy or a social science
    • Outstanding research and quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficiency in relevant software programs, such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
    • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment

    We will also consider these additional qualifications:

    • Demonstrated experience and interest in homeland security and emergency management
    • Experience conducting preparedness assessments for FEMA or other federal/state/local clients
