  • Overview

    Cadmus is seeking a full-time junior graphic designer to join our growing creative team that seeks a fast pass work environment and project work that cuts across creative mediums. Typical project work will include print layout, digital design for websites and social media, data visualization for infographics and presentations materials, corporate materials, HTML coding, etc. This person will design graphics/illustrations to support multi-disciplinary project teams on public health, environmental, drinking water, homeland security, transportation, and energy-efficiency projects.  Design support may also be needed for internal corporate initiatives. This role is an entry level position.


    The designer will be responsible for all aspects of design, from concept to completion. Ideal candidate will have creative instincts and a strong visual sense. This person will also need to multitask, have a keen attention to detail, and troubleshooting skills in a high volume, high-performance organization. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is required. Web coding and video skills are a plus.


    • Execute project designs, working closely with other graphic designers, graphic design managers, and internal/external clients to review drafts, refine design elements, and deliver final products in print and digital formats
    • Work independently in taking initial direction and completing projects – from consulting with project managers on development of creative briefs to final production
    • Consult with clients on design, communications, and digital strategies and solutions
    • Develop product timelines, manage work under strict deadlines, and follow quality assurance procedures
    • Prepare files for print production and purchase of images as needed



    • A bachelor’s degree in graphic design, computer arts, or related studies
    • 2-4 years of professional graphic design experience
    • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
    • Proficiency in web development software, such as HTML5, CSS, XHTML, Wordpress, and Javascript
    • Experience transforming data into easily digestible infographics and presentation graphics
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to learn quickly, adapt to new technology, and stay on top of industry advancements
    • Ability to see other points of view and take constructive feedback
    • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once and prioritize competing demands
    • Ability to work as part of multi-disciplinary project teams and deliver high-quality work often under tight deadlines


    • Familiarity with email-distribution systems, such as HubSpot and SalesForce Marketing Cloud
    • Experience with video editing software, such as Camtasia, Adobe Premier, and After Effects
    • Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility and XHTML 1.0 standards
    • Solid understanding and knowledge of design, typography, and visual communications as it relates to brand development and brand extensions
    • Understanding of interactivity, usability principles, and web design
    • Familiarity with Adobe programs such as Captivate
    • Familiarity with animation using Adobe Flash and ActionScript
    • Strong presentation skills
