    We are seeking highly experienced candidates to support a contract with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (DHS/FEMA), Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFG) as subject matter experts to the Fire Prevention and Safety (FP&S) Research and Development Grants (R&D).


    Successful candidates will provide technical expertise in fire engineering, clinical trials, research methodology, and/or technology and product development. Technical support services are required for the processing, review, and closeout of competitively awarded R&D grants.

     

    Position available on award of work.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide subject matter expertise to support the Fire Prevention and Safety (FP&S) Research and Development Grants (R&D) program.
    • Interact directly with AFG program staff and ensure client satisfaction.
    • Help AFG answer questions from R&D applicants and grant recipients regarding program priorities, application process, and eligible expenses.
    • Support AFG in the technical review of R&D grant applications.
    • Provide support to the technical evaluation panels. 

    Qualifications

    • Ph.D. from an accredited university, preferably in a national security, public policy, political science, emergency management, or homeland security field
    • Minimum of ten (10) years of demonstrated relevant experience
    • Proficiency in relevant software programs including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
    • Excellent analytical, communication (oral and written), and presentation skills
    • Preferred candidates will have paid or volunteer Fire/Emergency Medical Services experience
    • Must be US citizen for clearance eligibility

    Additional Information:

    The location for this position will be defined upon award of contract and will be in either the Cadmus Arlington VA (OR) Bethesda MD offices.
