  • Overview

    Cadmus is seeking a Research Analyst to join the Strategy and Policy team in the Boston office.  Members of the Strategy and Policy team specialize in next generation solutions to today's most pressing challenges. We advise clients across the globe on developing and refining innovative policies and strategies in energy, climate, water, resilience and mobility. Our staff possess deep expertise in strategy development, policy design, program and project management, stakeholder facilitation, and market analysis.


    The Research Analyst will provide analytical support to senior staff on consulting projects and conduct research for issue briefs and white papers on emerging topics in the renewable energy and sustainability space. Our projects often include policy and market analysis, barriers and opportunities assessment, best practices for policy development and program design, stakeholder engagement and facilitation, and quantitative analysis and database management.  Sample tasks include the preparation of briefing documents, data research and analysis, interviews with industry stakeholders, supporting development of presentation materials, and compiling materials for proposals for new business.  


    The Research Analyst will work directly with consulting staff on a wide range of activities related to the firm’s work on local, state, and international clean energy policy, sustainability strategies, climate adaptation, and corporate social responsibility.  Duties may include but are not limited to:

    • Working independently or with minimal supervision to support in research efforts, ensuring consistency and quality of research methods;
    • Conducting surveys, interviews, and quantitative analyses, focused on technical, policy, and/or financial implications of sustainability and clean energy technologies;
    • Contributing to research papers and other project deliverables ensuring accuracy of content, adherence to format, and other pertinent details;
    • Assist with project management activities, project coordination, and budget tracking;
    • Conducting research and analyzing collected data utilizing Excel or other analytical software;
    • Preparing and formatting PowerPoint presentations;
    • Assisting with the development of proposals.


    • Bachelor’s Degree and/or professional experience in a relevant field such as energy or environmental policy, sustainability, planning, business management, and/or finance.
    • Basic understanding of sustainability, clean energy and climate change policy, and/or corporate sustainability.
    • Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills. Additional foreign language skills are also valued.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.


    • 1-2 years of work experience in the clean technology field or relevant internship experience;
    • Familiarity with and passion for sustainability and clean energy policy, including policies on the regional and state levels;

    This is a full-time, salaried opportunity located in Boston, MA. Compensation will be subject to experience. Applicants should have reliable transportation to our office and be able to make a time commitment of 40 hours per week.
