    The Cadmus Group LLC (Cadmus) Social Marketing and Outreach practice delivers innovative marketing solutions to motivate behavior change and transform markets, primarily for federal agencies. Our service areas include energy efficiency, emergency preparedness, the environment and climate change, homeland security, public health, renewable energy, sustainable transportation, and water quality and security.  Our main federal clients include the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) and other Homeland Security programs, and the U.S. Department of Energy.


    Position Overview
    Cadmus seeks candidates with one to three years of professional experience providing technical writing and other marketing support. This is a full-time position onsite at the U.S. Coast Guard’s Douglas Munro Headquarters Building, 2703 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., S.E., Washington, D.C., near the Anacostia Metro Station.




    • Research and write a variety of documents targeted to the media, stakeholders, and the public, such as:
      - Speeches, briefings, and talking points
      - Fact sheets, media advisories, acquisition updates, white papers, and other media and stakeholder materials
      - Responses to media
      - News and feature articles
      - Newsletter articles
      - Event banner and other promotional copy
    • Review, critique, edit, and proofread client and internal writers’ content.
    • Coordinate with graphic designers on design and layout of materials.
    • Review and recommend updates and edits to web content.
    • Coordinate with clients to plan and manage projects.
    • Support public relations activities, including contributing to strategies, tactics and messaging to reach various target audiences.
    • Conduct general research via the web and online databases.
    • Review daily news articles for trends and developments that impact communications strategies and messaging.



    • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as English, journalism, creative writing, communications, etc.
    • One to three years of writing or communications experience in a professional or academic setting.
    • Experience writing in a variety of styles and translating technical information for general readers.
    • Ability to adhere to plain language and Associated Press Style guidelines.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, including setting priorities and adapting to changes, in a time-sensitive, deliverable-driven workplace.
    • Ability to take initiative to make recommendations to clients.
    • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
    • Excellent writing, oral communication, and critical thinking skills.
    • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs.
    • Ability to pass pre-screening and obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).


    Preferred, but Not Required

    • Experience writing materials that follow the Coast Guard Correspondence Manual and Coast Guard Stylebook.
    • Familiarity with web content systems, such as Drupal.
    • Experience working with federal government clients.
    • Experience working onsite at client locations.
