    Position Overview
    Cadmus is seeking an Analyst or Senior Analyst to join our Sustainability and Climate Resilience practice who specializes in greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory and sustainability strategies. The Sustainability and Climate Resilience practice focuses on all things climate mitigation and adaptation, such as the development of GHG inventories and targets, assessing risks and opportunities for clients related to climate change, and developing sustainability strategies and reporting for both public and private sector clients.
    The practice supports Cadmus’ clients in quantifying GHG emissions, setting GHG targets, reporting on climate and sustainability efforts, developing and implementing corporate sustainability strategies, assessing materiality and conducting vulnerability assessments, and navigating the intersection of climate disclosure and financial performance.


    The successful candidate will have experience and interest in the field of GHG emissions and sustainability reporting, preferably across a breadth of subject matter, in either the private or public sector. Relevant subject area experience may include corporate sustainability strategy, GHG accounting, life cycle assessment, climate change policy, and energy efficiency. The successful candidate is highly motivated to perform and learn, entrepreneurial, able to work collaboratively and independently, can manage assigned tasks and projects from start to finish with input from supervisors, and has exceptional written, verbal, and analytical skills.

    Responsibilities

    Serve in a supporting role in the Sustainability and Climate Resilience practice by:

    • Conducting GHG inventories for both private- and public-sector clients.
    • Working independently and in teams to deliver technical project work, including research, analysis, marketing/communications, and policy projects.
    • Managing aspects of project work as assigned, monitoring project schedules, budgets, and scopes against plan.
    • Ensuring high quality client deliverables in all activities.
    • Fostering successful, productive, and sustained client relationships.
    • Conducting third-party interviews
    • Assessing trends in the climate mitigation, adaptation, sustainability space
    • Creating and editing Power Point decks around practice topics, including sustainability, corporate reporting, inventories, supply chain etc.
    • Creating and maintaining spreadsheets in Excel to track information and give quantitative insight to clients
    • Attending client meetings
    • Conducting research and reporting out findings to the practice team
    • Reviewing corporate climate reports

    The Analyst will also provide marketing and sales support, including:

    • Supporting opportunity capture and proposal efforts, including administering calls, coordinating subcontractor team members, and preparing technical writing.
    • Developing podcast topics and creating outlines
    • Researching upcoming industry conferences (including submission and registration deadlines), and researching potential presentation topics
    • Managing the blog schedule, and writing two blog posts per month
    • Other responsibilities may be assigned, including administrative support (e.g., taking notes during clients calls), editing documents for consistency, or work on datasets.

    Qualifications

    • 2 – 5+ years of experience, with demonstrated successful project delivery experience
    • Excellent research and writing skills, particularly for communicating complex, technical material in a clear, succinct, readable manner
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, including setting priorities and adapting to changes in a time-sensitive, deliverable driven workplace
    • Ability to use Excel to identifying trends and summarize results; candidates should be proficient in conditional formatting, using formulas, and creating macros
    • Demonstrated familiarity and experience with emissions quantification protocols and tools such as The Greenhouse Gas Protocol, The Climate Registry, and/or the Global Protocol for Communities
    • Demonstrated familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks such as CDP, GRI, or the Dow Jones Sustainability Index
    • High degree of professionalism
    • Strong organizational skills, project management abilities, and exceptional attention to detail.
    • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, and good understanding of other standard office software applications.
    • Initiative and ability to self-direct on assignments
    • Detail-oriented; ability to check own work for quality and consistency
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

    Preferred

    • GRI Standards certification
    • Demonstrated familiarity with conducting life-cycle assessments
    • Experience conducting GHG inventories for multiple sectors, including corporate and municipal/community GHG inventories
    • Track record of successful project management and client management
    • Familiarity with qualitative or quantitative data collection and analysis methods (i.e. interview, survey and focus group design, modeling, qualitative and statistical analysis, etc.)
    • Graduate degree in Environmental Policy, Sustainability, Conservation, Business or related field

    This position is preferred to be located in our Cadmus Oakland, CA, Boston, MA, or Boulder, CO office.
