    The Cadmus Group is a dynamic, innovative consulting firm looking for an Associate to join our Energy Services team. We are looking for talented, committed leaders to help us provide advanced analytic and strategic consulting services to utilities, municipalities and government agencies, and businesses and private organizations.
    As a part of the Energy Sector, the Measurement and Engineering team at Cadmus assists clients in assessing energy projects, conducting feasibility and potential studies, evaluating incentive programs, conducting project due diligence, and providing other relevant technical expertise on a variety of energy technologies. You will design and lead a variety of projects which could span the breadth of residential, commercial and industrial energy efficiency technologies across the U.S. This role is not an engineering design position in the traditional sense, although many of the skills for this role overlap with traditional engineering positions. Rather, this position is an opportunity to apply engineering skills as a consultant, and as part of a broader team focused on building science, data acquisition and monitoring, energy systems analysis, and data analytics. You will present your work in reports, presentations, and webinars. You will work as an advisor and mentor for junior staff. You will be a regular contributor to proposals and other business development opportunities.

    Candidates should be highly motivated to learn new skills quickly and independently; able to manage tasks and projects from start to finish; and have exceptional analytic, writing, and oral presentation skills.



    • Perform residential, commercial, and industrial site visits to verify energy efficiency measure installation, install metering equipment, and/or collect relevant data
    • Analyze collected data using Excel or other analytical software, identifying trends, summarizing program events, and identifying causal impacts on project performance
    • Assist interdisciplinary teams by providing technical input to their projects as an expert on MEP, Power, Process, Renewable and/or Grid-Edge technologies
    • Document findings in reports, memos, and presentations to clients
    • Design and lead research projects
    • Manage project staff, deliverables, budgets, and schedules
    • Foster and maintain positive client relationships with outstanding work, responsiveness, and insight
    • Work independently or collaboratively, both internally and with external stakeholder groups
    • Contribute to business development efforts through proposal development, recognized technical excellence, and positive client relationships
    • Supervise and mentor junior staff
    • Promote Cadmus’ reputation through conference paper submissions and presentations



    • Completed undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field
    • 4+ years’ related work experience in the energy or energy efficiency sector
    • Experience with energy efficient technologies and strategies 
    • Experience with residential, commercial, and/or industrial energy systems and energy efficiency solutions
    • Excellent writing, communication, and critical thinking skills
    • Excellent analytical and quantitative capabilities
    • Track record of exemplary project/task management
    • Proficiency with MS Office applications, including Excel
    • Experience with energy modeling analysis and software such as eQUEST, EnergyPlus, Trane Trace, IES Virtual Environment, etc.


    • Professional engineering license
    • Energy efficiency and engineering related certification such as CEM, CMVP, CCP, etc.
    • Graduate degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field
    • Familiarity with Python, VBA, Matlab, R, SQL, Access, FileMaker, MongoDB, or other software programs and tools
    • Familiarity with building controls systems, including trend implementation and system integration Familiarity with energy monitoring sensors, loggers, and equipment
    • Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques, including regression, hypothesis testing, and sample design
    • Experience serving as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders
    • Experience leading and supporting business development activities
