Overview

Cadmus seeks qualified candidates to conduct operational scientific and technical analysis. Successful candidates will have at least 6 years of experience in the scientific field, with 4 years providing scientific support to programs related to biosurveillance (volunteer and unpaid experience okay) and a M.A. or M.S. degree from an accredited institution.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a professional services firm and/or a government agency with public health responsibilities.

 

Note: This position will be located on a client site. Finalists must be able to pass a DHS Suitability check.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of analysts conducting global disease surveillance on human, animal, and plant diseases
  • Manage the development and drafting of a variety of analytic biosurveillance decision support products
  • Provide high level subject-matter expertise in support of major biosurveillance programs and system development activities
  • Apply scientific expertise in defining and resolving system issues, performing analysis, and developing plans and requirements for further analysis
  • Oversee the preparation of analysis, evaluations, and recommendations for clients’ use in deliverables

 

Qualifications

  • M.A. or M.S. degree from an accredited institution in a scientific, engineering, medical, veterinary, or public health field
  • At least 6 years of experience years of experience in a scientific, medical, or public health field
  • At least 4 years of specialized experience providing scientific or technical support to major programs or system development efforts related to biosurveillance, epidemiology, or microbiology
  • Excellent writing/editing, analytical, communications, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in relevant software programs including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Knowledge of statistical software and/or mapping software preferred
  • Command of the English language in both written and spoken format
  • As a representative of Cadmus, possess the ability to demonstrate professionalism and sound judgment in interactions with clients and colleagues
  • Candidates selected will be subject to a security investigation and should be able to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • Experience working with a professional services consulting firm, DHS, Public Health, and/or the Federal Government is highly preferred
